Abstract

In a randomized, double-blind trial involving 17,604 patients with overweight or obesity and established cardiovascular disease, weekly subcutaneous semaglutide (2.4 mg) reduced the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events by 20% compared with placebo (HR 0.80; 95% CI 0.72-0.90; P<0.001).
